Bossard started her commercial fishing career in 1999, when she started working aboard the ship F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner, which was transformed into the role of a salmon tender is operated by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard was married to Aritan in 1999. The two have joined in fighting for their company. They are supporters of conservative and sustainable renewable resource management. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia when Bossard was able to return from home with her two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1, to Philadelphia.
